Fornalutx looks designed on purpose — as if someone arranged the flower pots, planned the stairs, painted the shutters. Actually it just grew that way. The village sits on the slope of Puig Major, surrounded by citrus terraces and olive groves, and you can barely drive in — the alleys are steep and narrow, locals park at the edge and walk. Mornings are great (before day trippers arrive from Palma) and evenings too (when the cliff reflects the sun). One cafe on the square, a good butcher, two restaurants. Enough.
