The Cami de s'Arxiduc was built in the 19th century by Archduke Ludwig Salvator of Austria, who lived at Son Marroig and laid out paths so he could ride the Teix ridge above his estates. The walk runs the cliff edge between Valldemossa and Deia, four to six hours depending on which way you go. From Valldemossa it climbs steeply for the first hour through pine forest, then opens onto a long ridge — bare rock, dwarf palms, the sea two kilometers below. On clear days you see Cabrera. Wind hits hard up there. Return via the Cairats Pass to close a loop, or descend west into Deia. Proper shoes, water, no shade for most of the ridge. Skip it on hot August afternoons.
