Forn de Sant Joan sits in a side alley of the old town in a former bakery. Inside sandstone, high ceilings, outside a courtyard with plants and soft lighting. The menu is Mallorcan with a modern polish: tumbet (the local layered vegetable dish), sobrassada croquetas, daily catch fish, oven-roasted lamb. Mains 18-28 euros, so not fine dining prices. Good wine list with local bodegas (Mesquida Mora, 4 Kilos). Book on weekends, weekdays usually walk-in is fine. Five minutes from Plaça Major, yet not on the tourist trail.
