Deià is pricier than Valldemossa, quieter than Sóller, smaller than both. The village clings to the steep coast, a single main road runs through, and at the bottom is Cala Deià — a rocky cove with one beach restaurant that has been doing the same thing for decades. The walk down is 20 minutes, little shade, the sun hits directly. Back up in the evening, then bus 203 returns to Palma. If you want to eat in the village: Sebastian or Jaume — both small places with short menus. Mornings before the buses arrive Deià is almost silent, that's the trick.
