Ànima Negra was started in 1994 by Pere Ignasi Obrador and Miquel Àngel Cerdà on the old family estate Son Burguera near Felanitx. They were self-taught, began with two barriques of Callet from local growers, lucked into the quality, and are now one of the most respected names in premium Mallorcan wine. More than half the yearly output is exported to Germany, Austria, Switzerland, USA.

Their thing is indigenous varieties, above all Callet, plus Manto Negro, Fogoneu, Premsal Blanc and Giró Ros. The vines are 40-60 years old, spread over around 150 small parcels within a 10 km radius of the winery. Classic wines: AN (100% Callet, old vines, the flagship), AN/2 (Callet, Manto Negro, Fogoneu, a touch of Syrah) and the white Quibia (Premsal/Giró Ros).

Visit and tasting: there are no walk-in opening hours, you have to contact the winery directly via annegra.com or by phone +34 971 584 481 to book a slot. A week ahead is safer, in high summer and through harvest September-October you need flexibility. Prices and tasting format vary by season, clear it up in advance. The bodega itself is more workplace than showroom, this is not a tourist winery with a train tour.

Address: Carrer Son Negre 23, 07200 Felanitx (Bodega Son Negre). Not to be confused with Son Burguera, the home estate, which does not host tastings.

Getting there: by car around 5 minutes from Felanitx towards Son Negre. Difficult without a car, TIB bus 491 or 492 gets you to Felanitx, taxi from there. Felanitx no longer has a train station.

Important: if you taste wine, do not drive yourself. Mallorca runs at 0.5 promille across the board, and since 2026 the Catalonia drink limit for tourists is a political topic, with more checks announced. Rental car insurance does not cover alcohol-related accidents. Taxi or an organised wine tour from Palma are the safe options.
