Felanitx is the wine town of the east and at the same time the gateway to the beach resorts Cala d'Or, Porto Colom and Cala Mondragó. Sundays there is a market on the main square, smaller than Sineu but with better local wines (Anima Negra, Miquel Oliver, Can Majoral). From town a road leads up Puig de Sant Salvador (509m), at the top a monastery with a huge Christ statue and the best 360-degree view on the island. On clear days you can see Cabrera. Two cafes up there. Combines well with a beach day in Porto Colom (10 minutes down by car).
