The salt flats sit right next to Es Trenc beach and have produced salt since Roman times. In summer the water in the basins turns pink (microalgae), in winter flamingos arrive. You can do guided tours (book on the website, 1.5 hours, 12 euros), or just walk along the edge (free). The shop at the entrance sells Flor de Sal d'Es Trenc, the most famous Mallorca souvenir (sea salt flakes, various flavors, 8-15 euros). Combines well with a beach day at Es Trenc right next door.
