Cala Llombards is the quieter alternative if Caló des Moro and Cala Santanyí are too packed for you. The cove is small, around 55 meters wide, fine light sand, rocks with pines on both sides. The water is turquoise until you are about knee deep, then blue. In July and August between 11 and 16 the beach is full, from 17 onwards it empties out again.
The parking lot is free and right next to the beach, unusual for the south coast, where many lots now cost 10 EUR per day. The 100 spaces are not enough in high summer though, go before 10 in the morning or late afternoon. People coming from Caló des Moro park here anyway (same lot Camí de Cala Llombards), Cala Llombards is just the more convenient beach if you do not want to walk 1.5 km.
From May to October there are toilets at the beach, a lifeguard and a small bar. No showers. If you do not need the bar, come in shoulder season, you can have the beach almost to yourself. In November I was there with five other people, 21 degree water, the ground still summer-warm for a few more months.
Family-friendly because of the shallow entry, no waves except in south wind. For snorkeling, stay along the right rock edge, the rocks have small fish and octopus hiding spots. With a dog: allowed between November and March, not in summer.
